The Grieving Ayatollah (MA18)

‘Beginning of Sorrows '

Dan 11:29-30a  “At the time appointed (End-time) he (king of the North - Iran) shall return (retaliation), aznd come toward the south (Israel); but it shall not be as the former, or as the latter. For the ships of Chittim (the West) shall come against him: therefore he shall be grieved..." (KJV)

Iranian Islamic Republic
Ruhollah Mostafavi Khomeini was the leader of the Iranian Revolution, which overthrew Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, ended the Pahlavi era in 1979, and transformed the country into an Islamic republic.

Expensive Iran–Iraq War
The Iran-Iraq War began on September 22, 1980, when Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein ordered an invasion of western Iran. Iraq hoped to seize oil-rich territory, gain control of the Shatt al-Arab waterway, and stop the spread of Iran's 1979 Islamic Revolution. The brutal conflict lasted for eight years with 500,000 deaths. Estimated economic costs ranged from $300 billion to over $600 billion for Iran. This included massive destruction of oil installations, cities, and heavy military spending.

The Rich and Powerful Iran
After the death of Ayatollah Khomeini in 1989, Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei favoured economic privatization of Iranian state-owned industries and, using its oil and gas reserves, transformed war torn Iran into an "energy superpower". His foreign policy centered on Shia Islamism and exporting the Islamic Revolution. Khamenei played a pivotal role in shaping Iran's military and paramilitary apparatus following the 1979 Islamic Revolution, especially the IRGC, transforming it into a primary tool for domestic control and regional influence, in turn making Iran a regional power. Under Khamenei, Iran supported the Axis of Resistance coalition in the Syrian civil war, the War in Iraq, the Yemeni civil war, and the Gaza war, as well as Russia during the Russo-Ukrainian war. A staunch critic of Israel and of Zionism, Khamenei supported the Palestinians in the Israeli–Palestinian conflict; his rhetoric included calls for Israel's destruction and antisemitic tropes.
Under Khamenei, Iran was involved in proxy wars (Hamas in Israel, Hezbollah in Lebanon, Bashar al-Assad regime and Hezbollah in Syria, Popular Mobilization Forces, Hezbollah Brigades, etc. in Iraq, and the Houthis in Yemen) with Israel and Saudi Arabia.

Grieving Ayatollah Ali Khamenei
With the help of Russia and China, Ayatollah Ali had for the last 30 years at the expense of the people used the Iranian treasure to strengthen the country defense with deep underground bunkers and a huge stock of advanced missiles and weapons. Iran also financed and equipped its proxies.
Since the failure of the 1st. Iranian Retaliatory Aerial Attack on 2024 April 13, the Iranian air force, navy and aerial defense were completely defeated by the advanced and powerful US. Its proxies in Israel, Lebanon, Syria and Iraq were compromised.
Ayatollah's dreams slowly and surely vanished. He was grieved at all their defeats.

Death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei 1
The combined U.S.-Israeli airstrikes in 2026 Feb. 28, killed Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei alongside dozens of senior political and military leaders in strikes on his office in Tehran.
Since then, the Iranian navy and defenses were annihilated by US. Even the Straits of Hormuz are now under US control. Most of the factories manufacturing its missiles and drones were destroyed. Without political and military leaders Iran is in shamble. Frequent street protests and rebellions result in tens of thousands of demonstrators killed so far.
Although Ali was killed in February, but, because of the fear of the annihilation of the top Iranian leadership by US bombs, the burial was delayed and then held on July 9, 2026 when a temporary peace was signed.
